With Quick Share from Google (previously Nearby Share), which is compatible with Windows 11(and 10) devices, sharing files over a wireless connection is simple on Android.
Google has the Quick Share app, which facilitates file sharing across Android and Windows devices, even though you can upload your files to cloud storage services like OneDrive and Google One and then access the contents from your PC using the same services. As long as the devices are close together, you may even share files with your friends and family using the same app.
You may send and receive files from nearby Android smartphones instantly once the program is installed on your computer and runs in the background. Drag and drop the file to the Quick Share interface or use the Send with Quick Share option from the File Explorer context menu to send a file from your PC.
Even if the screen is off, the transfer will still occur automatically if both devices are logged into the same Google account (you still need to accept the initial transfer). However, for the transfer to occur, both smartphones must be unlocked.
I’ll walk you through setting up Google Quick Share so that you may share files between Windows 11 and Android in this guide. Windows 10 also supports the feature. You may now access your Android phone files from File Explorer by using the Manage Devices tool.
Quick Share files between Android and Windows 11
Installing the Google Quick Share software on Windows and making sure both Android and Windows devices have Bluetooth enabled are prerequisites for wireless file sharing between them.
Set up Quick Share on Windows 11
Follow these instructions to install the Quick Share app on Windows 11 (or 10):
OpenQuick Sharepage.
To download the app to your computer, click the “Download Quick Share” button.
To install the Quick Share program, double-click the BetterTogetherSetup.exe file.

When sharing files under the Visible to others setting, make sure the Windows PC has a descriptive name to help identify it.

You can share files from Android to Windows 11 (or 10) or the other way around once you’ve finished the steps.
It’s crucial to remember that you need to have a do not disturb order. Toggle it off from the top right after opening Notifications (Windows key + N) if it is enabled.
You can also modify the sharing options from the main interface once the app has been configured.
