You can choose whether Windows 11 should ask you to reenter your password when the computer or screen wakes up from sleep.
To keep others from accessing your account while you are gone, the functionality was created with security in mind. If the function is enabled, you will need to enter a password to continue when the device or display enters sleep mode after a period of inactivity (depending on the screen and sleep settings) and you wake up.
Reentering your password each time you leave the device for a short while can be annoying if you are in a trusted location, such as your home office. If this is the case, you can also turn off Windows 11’s sign-in requirement.

On Windows 11, follow these steps to disable the sign-in password after leaving or going to sleep:
OpenSettings on Windows 11.
Select “Accounts.”
On the Sign-in choices page, click.
Select the “Never” choice for theWhen should Windows ask you to log in again after a period of inactivity? This can be found in the Additional settings area.
Verify your login information (if applicable).
After you finish the procedures, Windows 11 will automatically re-login to your account without a password when you leave the computer or it wakes up from sleep.
Enable sign-in after waking up from sleep on Windows 11
Use these steps to set up the operating system to lock the device and ask for a password when you go to sleep or leave the room:
OpenSettings on Windows 11.
Select “Accounts.”
On the Sign-in choices page, click.
(Option 1) Select “Every Time” from the Additional options area to allow Windows to need sign-in after sleep if you have been away.
(Option 2) Select the duration of 1 to 15 minutes for theWindows should ask you to sign in again after a certain number of minutes of inactivity (including sleep) if you have been away. This can be specified in the Additional options area.
Following completion of the instructions, the computer will display the lock screen and you will need to enter your password each time it wakes up from sleep or after a period of inactivity lasting several minutes.
In Windows 11, you must erase the login password if you wish to disable the lock screen or avoid the sign-in page upon startup and after waking up from slumber.
