UPDATED 5/31/2024: Microsoft started distributing Windows 11 build 26227, a minor update with a number of enhancements, known problems, and adjustments, in the Canary Channel of the Windows Insider Program on May 30, 2024.
Windows 11 version 26227 turns the Copilot integration into an app experience that you can move around the desktop and resize, according to the official release. Nevertheless, this is Copilot’s web version that is installed as an application using the Microsoft Edge browser.
This modification will remove the Copilot button from the System Tray. Rather, it will be a Taskbar-pinned application that you may unpin and remove from your computer whenever you choose.
Furthermore, Microsoft has eliminated the Windows key + Ckeyboard shortcut, and because this is a basic online application, the chatbot will not be able to alter system settings—at least not for the time being. Use the Windows key + app position number keyboard shortcut or the Copilot button on the keyboard if you want to open Copilot quickly.
Additionally, Windows 11 build 26227 comes with Emojis version 15.1, which adds new emojis such as broken chain, phoenix, lime, brown mushroom, and head shaking both vertically and horizontally.
A new Linked devices tab can be found in the Settings app, more precisely in the Accounts section. From Settings, you may use this page to control your PC and Xbox devices that are linked to the same Microsoft account. The business points out that only the Home and Pro versions of the operating system can access this page.
The addition of the new Enhance pointer precision setting is one change that Microsoft failed to mention. The ability to adjust the mouse sensitivity based on the speed at which you move your cursor across the screen was previously limited to the Control Panel’s legacy version.
This update addresses stutters in location notifications, restartable apps, and animations with Task View. Additionally, this release fixes errors with the explorer.exe process, Widgets while using the keyboard shortcut, and problems with the Alt + Tab interface.
